Why study Life Sciences at Imperial?

Learn from inspiring academics

We’re tackling some of the most pressing questions in science – like understanding how marine life helps store carbon in our oceans.

Specialise in what fascinates you

You’ll study the full spectrum of life sciences and, in your final year, choose from nearly 30 modules such as advanced immunology, stem cells, systems biology and medical microbiology.

Get your hands dirty

You’ll take field trips to a marine environment or to our Silwood Park Campus with unique facilities for field research in woodland, grassland and freshwater habitats, as well as full genomics and microbiology laboratories.

At the start of sixth form I never imagined I’d even go to university, let alone one of the best in the world. My school was contacted by the Imperial Outreach team, inviting students to attend a Summer School. I successfully applied, and spent a week at Imperial during the holidays. I found it such an eye-opening experience.

It helped me to make the decision to apply, and I achieved my goal to study at Imperial. There are so many different skills used in biochemistry – I think it’s one of the most multidisciplinary degrees out there.
