STEMathon India

Imperial College London, the university ranked #2 in the world (QS 2025) is hosting its annual STEMathon India schools’ competition from July to November 2025 and we want you to be part of it.

We’re seeking teams of three students from schools across the country to take on the challenge of creating innovative scientific solutions for one of the United Nations’ Global Goals for Sustainable Development.

Entries will be judged by our team at Imperial College London and finalists will be selected and invited to participate in the finals in Bengaluru.

Registration fee

150 GBP per school team of 3 students (50 GBP per student) 

Please note that the fee ONLY covers participation costs. Travel and accommodation arrangements to Bengaluru for the final round must be borne by the students themselves, and by the school for accompanying teachers, in case they are shortlisted.

Eligibility Criteria

This is a team event, where each team will consist of three eligible students and one teacher to safeguard the team.  All four persons must come from the same school and branch.

  1. All team members must be in Grades 10 to 12. A mix of grades per team is permitted. 
  2. All students must be 15 – 17 years of age from the date applications close and must not turn 18 years old until after 23 November 2025.
  3. Students will be required to show proof of address, age, school branch, school year and school approval id their application is successful. 
  4. All school teams must be from one of the four Boards mentioned below:
    – Council for Indian School Certificate Examination – Indian School Certificate  
    – Central Board of Secondary Education – All India Senior School Examination  
    – International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. 
    – Cambridge Assessment International Education. 
  5. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from state board-affiliated schools. 
  6. Teams will be the responsibility of the school throughout the competition, including chaperoning students to and during the final round of the competition, if selected.
