The Jack Hirst Scholarship in Chemistry provides financial support for students who are Nigerian nationals and are studying/researching in the field of Chemistry at a Nigerian academic institution at the time of their application.
The scholarship covers the full cost of the tuition fees for the Master’s course and a bursary equal to the current UKRI PhD bursary rate for students in London.
Applicants need to have received an offer for a place on a Chemistry Master’s course for 2025 entry by the scholarship deadline of 23.59 (UK local time), 23 May 2025.

Course information
Applicants must have been made an offer to study one of the following Chemistry Master’s courses:
- MRes in Advanced Molecular Synthesis
- MRes in Biological and Physical Chemistry
- MRes in Catalysis: Chemistry and Engineering
- MRes in Chemical Biology and Bio-Entrepreneurship
- MSc in Digital Chemistry with AI and Automation
- MRes in Drug Discovery and Development
- MRes in Green Chemistry, Energy and the Environment
- MRes in Nanomaterials
- MRes in Nanomedicine and Nanodiagnostics
